Being Charitable

Make a wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life threatening disease in the United States, on average every 38 minutes.

The Make-A-Wish foundation has been helping children by granting their wish for years. The first child they helped was a young named Chris. A seven year old boy who was diagnosed with leukemia. More than anything else he wanted to be police officer. Caring people in his community granted his wish.

I was once a member of Make-A-Wish at my old high school. I loved doing charity work because I knew I was making a difference. Make-A-Wish holds a lot of symbolic meaning to me. During the meetings every one would try their very hardest to make ends meet and to grant a wish, for a child in need.

Bucket List

1. Travel- I want to see the world for what it is, not a tourist trap or cruise. I want to really experience it for myself.

2. Get a Tattoo- The rebel in me always wanted one. I hope to get at least one as a gift to myself.

3. Go to the airport and take the next random flight somewhere- There's always been a part of me that loves the sence of adventure.

4. Have a big Garden- When I was younger my family lived in a big house with a large front and back yard. My Mother planted the most beautiful flowers in the front yard, and the best tasting fruit and vegetables in the back yard. I want to recreate it, but in my way.

5. Learn to play an instrument- I don't care which, but I hope to at least be able to play something.

My Top Three Video Games

1. Killer Instinct

My older brother had a lot of fighting and first person shooter games on his nintendo 64, he would't let me play with him because thats what older brothers do. But I'd watched him play many times with his friends and my cousins. Eventually my parents made him let my play with him. And the game that I loved the most was Killer Instinct, and I wan't half bad. My brother even started to let me play with him.

2. Injustice Gods Among Us

My best guy friend Tony has the PS4, and with it his favorite game Injustice. Last summer he invited my friend Janet, Danny, and I to his house to play it. We stayed at his house for hours and came back almost every week. It was just us hanging out in his room with the food we'd order and AC on 24/7. This summer was one of my favorites, because I spent it indoors with my best friends playing video games.

3. Pokemon

My brother had Pokemon FireRed on his gameboy, he'd let me use it because he knew I didn't know how to save the game I started. But I didn't care, I loved it. Every time I started the game over I'd always pick squirtle because I thought he looked the cutest. Today I have a lot more Pokemon games on my 3DS and I actually know what to do now. I've become somewhat of a Pokemon geek but Im ok with that.

My Favorite Hobby

Drawing is my life. I've never found anything that i enjoy more or can really say I'm good at. though it started as something I'd do when I'm bored (mostly in class), it became somewhat like my way away from my normal life and work. I had my own little universe to draw however i wanted. I always preferred to use drawing pencils, because I feel like I have more control over what I was doing.

One of my favorite things to draw was anime, manga, and pop art or vintage comics. I loved how they all looked so I would study the artist's work, and yes; that meant watching anime and reading manga and comics all day.

Although pencil is my preferred choice i still love painting. I like using water color the most because of the way the colors blend in together. Art is a form of expression. I love to express myself through art, since I've never been much of a talker.

About Me

My name is Viviana Rodriguez Campos, I am 17 years old, and I’m living with my mother and older brother. I grew up in Pomona and have spent most of my life living there. In the middle of my 9th grade year, my mother and I moved to costa mesa. My brother having already moved here a year before us after he graduated, we moved in together shortly after. I have two cats both female. My father gave me the first cat(Fiona) after my dog Lucky died of old age. My second cat(Bunny) came to us on her own. We found her as a kitten outside our door one night so we took her in.

My only goal in life has been and continues to be to live my life happily and independently. Some of my pastimes, are to read, draw and to sleep. I enjoy drawing the most and hope to make a career as an illustrator. I also enjoy helping others and working in the medical field is something I would like to do as well.
